FIELD: wood-working industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for the production of derivatized cellulose and to derivatized cellulose products obtained using the specified methods. A method for derivatization of cellulose fibrous mass includes the preparation of a reaction medium containing urea and a derivatizing reagent, which is not sulfamic acid. Then, a reaction of chemical derivatization is carried out between the derivatizing agent and cellulose fibrous mass in a reaction system having a water content of 0-20 wt.%. Moreover, cellulose fibrous mass is fibrous mass of hard wood, fibrous mass of soft wood, or soluble fibrous mass. Next, optional purification and isolation of a derivatized cellulose product are carried out.

EFFECT: derivatization of cellulose fibrous mass is provided at high content of solid substances or even in absolutely dry state without preliminary cellulose processing.
