FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering, in particular to means for storing, transporting and repairing VVER fuel assemblies, and is intended for use at a nuclear power plant (NPP). The canister for the repair of VVER fuel assemblies contains a cylindrical body with a bottom, a removable plug, cooling tubes isolated from the internal volume of the vessel, passing through the tube plates of the canister, a guide, which is a hexagonal pipe, and safety valves in the bottom and plug. A load-handling element is located on the cork. The cork is made in the form of two interconnected concentric cups, the outer cup secures the cork in the upper part of the canister body, the inner cup with sealing elements seals the internal cavity of the body and the cork from the environment. The inner cup of the plug is made in such a way that its internal volume provides the placement of the fuel assembly head.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the release of radioactive elements into the environment when handling leaky fuel.
