FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to storage devices of spent fuel assemblies (SFA) of VVER-1000 reactor and is designed for being used in stationary storages for spent nuclear fuel at plants for regeneration of such fuel or at NPP. A canister for VVER-1000 spent nuclear fuel includes a housing with partition walls installed inside it and forming cells, a cover plate with a cap equipped with a valve unit and a device for attachment of the cover plate to the housing, vertical posts installed inside the housing, and a central pipe. Vertical posts and the central pipe are connected with partition walls so that four cells are formed between them. Vertical posts are arranged along the housing perimetre so that angles between partition walls in two opposite cells are equal to an angle between adjacent edges of SFA. In two other opposite lying cells the angles between partition walls are equal to an angle between non-adjacent edges of SFA. Partition walls of those two cells are connected by vertical plates so that a half of a hexagonal section exceeding the hexagonal section of non-series SFA is formed.
EFFECT: increasing efficiency of a canister and a section of cells to create a possibility of installation into them both of series, and non-series SFA.
