FLEXIBLE POLYOLEFIN HEAT-INSULATING FOAM MATERIAL, AND ITS USE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF FLEXIBLE POLYOLEFIN HEAT-INSULATING FOAM MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C08J9/00 C08L23/04 C08L23/08 C08K5/103 C08K5/20

Abstract RU 2781615 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flexible uncross-linked polyolefin heat-insulating foam material obtained by extrusion of a mixture including: i) ethylene/α-olefin block copolymer containing structural blocks: A) crystalline or semicrystalline blocks characterized by ethylene content in amount of more than 95 wt.%; and B) elastomeric blocks characterized by ethylene content in amount of 95 wt.% or less and comonomer content of 5 wt.% or more. At the same time, ethylene/α-olefin block copolymer includes alternating blocks of crystalline blocks of linear polyethylene of medium density and elastomeric blocks of ethylene/1-octene, where polyethylene of medium density has a density range of 0.926-0.940 g/cm3. The mixture also includes ii) one or more statistic polymers with density between 0.880 g/cm3 and 0.960 g/cm3, selected from a group of metallocene polyethylene and/or polyethylene; and iii) cell stabilizer. The mixture includes between 20 and 75 wt.% of ethylene/α-olefin block copolymer in point i). At the same time, the method includes stages of a) melting of the mixture in a zone(s) of extruder melting, adjusted to temperatures from 160 to 220°C, at pressure increasing from 1 bar to 400 bar (0.1-40 MPa), b) injection of a physical foam former at a temperature during injection from 140 to 220°C and injection pressure from 30 to 300 bar (3-30 MPa), c) cooling of the melted mixture in one or more cooling zones adjusted to temperatures from 85 to 115°C, and d) extrusion of the mixture through an extrusion die with a temperature adjusted to a value from 85 to 115°C, and at pressure high enough to retain any gas present in the mixture, in a diluted in the mixture state. Heat-insulating foam material has a percent content of open cells of 6(+/-3)% or less per the total number of cells in foam material. The invention also relates to a sheet or a cylinder, a method for the production of material, and the use.

EFFECT: proposed foam material has excellent heat-insulating characteristics and has excellent flexibility characteristics.
