FIELD: lasers.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of laser and can be used for the effective procedure of intracavity correction of laser wavefront tilts. The method for intracavity correction of laser wavefront tilts is based on changing the orientation of the tilt equaliser (KN) located in place of the cavity end mirror by issuing control signals to the actuators of the tilt equaliser. The control signals are calculated using a stochastic parallel gradient (SPG) algorithm.

EFFECT: faster operation of the adaptive optical system intended for intracavity laser wavefront tilt correction due to the selection of a structurally simple optical element with a KN function and application of a simplified SPG algorithm used to calculate the control signals of the KN actuators in the form of a flat mirror configured to rotate around two mutually perpendicular axes; and, as a result, increase in the effectiveness of maximising the power, minimising the divergence of laser emission propagating through a flowing non-homogeneous active medium, and stabilising the direction of propagation of a laser beam.
