The method for restoring the backup roll pads includes the stage of preparing the surface to be restored with surface cleaning, degreasing, mechanical surface treatment, surface roughening, surface shot blasting and protection of the workpiece surfaces that are not subject to metallization, the stage of applying layers of coatings with preheating the pad of the backup roll, applying preparatory and the main layers by the method for electric arc metallization (EAM) and the stage of mechanical processing of the coatings to the design size.

EFFECT: increasing the durability of the pillows of the backup rolls of rolling mills.
