FIELD: metallurgical processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the preparation of raw materials for metallurgical processing and can be used in the production of iron ore pellets using slaked lime for their further use both in blast furnace production and in the process of direct reduction of pellets. When obtaining pellets from ore materials, the components are crushed, pelletized and the pellets are fired at a temperature of 1200-1400°C. In this case, the pelletizing of the components is carried out at the following fractional content per unit of iron ore concentrate: iron ore concentrate - 1, bentonite clay - 0.004-0.010, slaked lime - 0.01-0.04. For pelletizing, iron ore concentrate and slaked lime are used with a moisture content of not more than 10.0 and 0.5%, respectively, and a fractional composition of not more than 0.1 mm. Heat treatment of the pellets is carried out for at least 30 minutes. The obtained pellets correspond to the following parameters: fractional composition - 8-16 mm more than 95%, basicity modulus - from 0.15-0.9, cold strength indicators - not less than 240 kg/o, mass fraction of sulfur - not more than 0.02%.

EFFECT: increase and stabilization of the index of cold strength of fluxed iron ore pellets, as well as an increase in the metallurgical value of the pellets in terms of the mass fraction of iron.
