SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology; it can be used in the complex treatment of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy at any stage. To do this, when establishing the fact of reduction in the content of lysozyme in the lacrimal fluid as a means providing mediator interactions in the immune system, lysozyme is administered sublingual at a dose of 100 mg per day.
EFFECT: invention provides the expansion of fields of view, an increase in retinal photosensitivity, as well as an increase in a level of lysozyme in the lacrimal fluid to the average statistical norm for patients with diabetic retinopathy due to systemic action on main trigger pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of this disease.
