FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optics, in particular to calorimetric methods for measuring optical absorption coefficients in optical elements. The method for measuring the optical absorption coefficients and the local temperature of optical elements consists in the excitation of a piezoelectric resonance in a piezoelectric crystal, which is brought into thermal contact with the optical element under study, through which laser radiation is passed. The resonant frequency of a piezoelectric crystal can be determined by placing a piezoelectric crystal between the plates of a capacitor, which is included in the feedback circuit of an inverting amplifier, forming a self-oscillator. By changing the frequency of the generated oscillations of the self-oscillator, the change in the resonant frequency of the piezoelectric crystal is determined. The absorption coefficient is calculated based on the preliminary calibration of the frequency of the piezoelectric resonance of the crystal from the temperature under conditions of homogeneous heating.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy and speed of measurements, a significant simplification of the experimental setup, the possibility of local temperature measurement.
