FIELD: laser technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser calorimetry using feedback when measuring the optical absorption coefficient (OAC) of an object. OAC is measured in two ways by the heat flow in the middle part of the object minus heating by scattered radiation during steady and unsteady heat flow and during heat recovery caused by heating of the faces at the input/output.

EFFECT: achieving correctness and accuracy in measuring the optical absorption coefficient in the range of 10-6 - 10-2 cm-1.
