FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of satellite geodetic levelling and can be used to determine the parameters of a global model of the external gravity field of the Earth (EGFE). Substance: the coordinates of a low-orbit space vehicle relative to the position of the centre of mass of the Earth in an inertial geodetic coordinate system and the surface of a geoid are determined. The geocentric radius, orthometric height, height of the geoid, and geodetic height are measured. The differences between the measured values of said quantities and the calculated values of said quantities are found. Representative statistics of the calculated differences and the real values of the gravity potential and the following calculated parameters are calculated: the equatorial radius of the Earth ellipsoid, the geocentric gravitational constant, the normalised harmonic coefficients of the degree n and the order m. The parameters of the global model of the EGFE are determined by the least squares method.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of determining the parameters of a global model of the EGFE.
