FIELD: tanks safe operation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the safe operation of tanks and tank farms for storing oil and oil products and to the protection of the atmosphere from the release of hydrocarbons from storage tanks. This problem is solved by supplying inert gas from an individual gas tank 2 to the gas space of tank 1 and removing volatile vapors through a pipe to the condensation unit 9, followed by storage in tank 11. Excess inert gas is removed through another pipe and enters the inert gas purification unit 6 through the pipeline, then it returns to the main gas tank 7 serving a group of tanks 1. Thus, in pipelines supplying inert gas to tank 1, the gas does not contain harmful impurities at any time of operation, and gas tanks 2 individual for each tank provide independent operation for individual tanks systems.

EFFECT: invention improves safety of storage of oil and oil products and reduces losses of volatile hydrocarbons.
