FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of in-line inspection of field, inter-field, process facilities of pipeline transport used to pump non-aggressive liquids, petroleum, petroleum products, and gas with a content of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) no more than 6%. The technical result is achieved due to the proposed apparatus for in-line inspection of the technical condition of a pipeline using 32 three-component sensors as magnetic field sensors, installed in groups of 3 single-component sensors at 12 points of intersection of a sphere with the coaxial vertices of a virtual icosahedron inscribed therein and at 20 points of intersection of the sphere with the radial rays passing through the centre of the sphere and the centres of parallel faces of the inscribed virtual icosahedron, wherein the axis of the first single-component permanent magnetic field sensor in each of the sensor groups is orthogonal to the sphere surface, while the axes of the other two sensors in the same group are mutually orthogonal and orthogonal to the axis of the first sensor, in order to simultaneously obtain the modules of field invariants and the gradients of normal components, the joint use whereof would increase the reliability of data of defect inspection.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and reliability of detecting and assessing the degree of hazard of defects, the location and geometric dimensions of the defect.
