FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical physics, namely, to the field of silhouette recording of a fast process. The method includes the stages of initiating a chemical transformation in a charge of a pulsed light source containing a photography mixture, installed on the side of a diffusion-scattering screen opposite to the fast process; creating a luminous zone, and performing high-speed video recording of the fast process against the background of the screen. Combustion is initiated in the charge by a low-voltage electric igniter in a pulsed light source containing a powder charge placed with the photography mixture in a closed volume, with a delay for a time determined by the actuation time of the electric igniter and the buildup time of the radiation front relative to the time of the beginning of the recording process. Apparatus for creating a luminous zone for silhouette video recording of a fast process comprises an initiation apparatus linked with the pulsed light source including a photography mixture placed over the charge; comprises a synchronisation apparatus, the input whereof is linked with the recorded process launch apparatus and the output is with the low-voltage initiation apparatus linked with the electric charge igniter of the pulsed light source made in the form of a powder charge and a photography mixture placed in a single cup-shaped body, the open end whereof on the side of the photography mixture is closed with a diaphragm.

EFFECT: improved lighting parameters due to the use of a low-voltage initiation apparatus and apparatus for creating a luminous zone.
