FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology of the production of powder of yttrium-aluminum garnet. A method for the production of powder of yttrium-aluminum garnet by a solid-phase method includes sampling of yttrium oxide and aluminum nitrate samples, which are mixed to form a mixture for synthesis. After the formation of the mixture, it is grounded to a homogenous state, transferred to a crucible, which is placed in a furnace preheated to a temperature of 900°C, and the mixture is thermally processed for at least 2 h to obtain monophase yttrium-aluminum garnet with its subsequent cooling and grinding. The mixture for synthesis for a homogenous state can be grounded in a ball planetary mill.
EFFECT: reduction in a number of preparatory operations due to reaction synthesis of powder, at which initial substances are completely spent, single-stage synthesis without the formation of intermediate phases.
