FIELD: lasers.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of liquid laser materials. Substance of the invention: active medium of a diode-pumped liquid laser contains ytterbium, a Lewis acid, and sulphur oxychloride. Ytterbium is bound into a luminescent heterocomplex formed from the dissolution of an ytterbium compound. The ratios of the components of the active medium are presented. Examples of the composition of the active medium. Thionyl chloride is used as sulphur oxychloride, gallium trichloride is used as a Lewis acid, and the luminescent heterocomplex is formed by dissolving ytterbium chloride, chloride crystal hydrate, or trifluoroacetate. Thionyl chloride is used as sulphur oxychloride, antimony pentachloride is used as a Lewis acid, and the luminescent heterocomplex is formed by dissolving ytterbium chloride crystal hydrate. Sulphuryl chloride is used as sulphur oxychloride, gallium trichloride is used as a Lewis acid, and the luminescent heterocomplex is formed by dissolving ytterbium chloride or trifluoroacetate.
EFFECT: lower impact of hazardous substances on the personnel, ensured pumping of an active medium with a high concentration of ytterbium and operation of the laser at above zero (negative) temperatures.
