FIELD: liquid laser materials.
SUBSTANCE: active medium of a diode-pumped fluid laser has ytterbium, a Lewis acid and phosphorus oxychloride. Ytterbium is bound to a dichlorophosphate complex formed by dissolving the ytterbium compound in phosphorus oxychloride. In particular cases of the active medium composition, the Lewis acid used is zirconium tetrachloride, and dichlorophosphate complex is formed when ytterbium trifluoroacetate Yb(CF3CO2)3 is dissolved or tin tetrachloride is used as a Lewis acid, and dichlorophosphate complex is formed by dissolving Yb(CF3CO2)3 ytterbium trifluoroacetate or Yb(ClO4)3 ytterbium perchlorate in phosphorus oxychloride.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling possibility of increasing optical efficiency of liquid laser.
