SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an antibody against IGF-I receptor. The antibody against IGF-I receptor or its antigen-binding fragment, which specifically bind to the vertebrate IGF-I receptor and show activity of enhancing growth of vertebrate cells, bind to ProSerGlyPheIleArgAsnGlySerGlnSerMet epitope and contain a variable region of a heavy chain, containing three complementarity-defining regions (CDR H1-H3) – SEQ ID NO: 3-5, and a variable region of a light chain, containing three complementarity-defining regions (CDR L1-L3) – SEQ ID NO: 6-8. An antibody derivative, a nucleic acid molecule, a cloning vector, an expression vector, a recombinant cell, methods for the production of an antibody, a pharmaceutical composition, and a drug for the treatment or prevention of a condition related to IGF-I or IGF-II, a method for cultivation of vertebrate cells in vitro, a method for analysis of antibody binding, and a method for study of intracellular signal transmission are also disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for an increase in muscular weight or thickness of cartilage of the growth plate through IGF-I receptor without reduction in a blood glucose level.
