SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the manufacture of spur and helical spur gears for processing teeth and removing chamfers and burrs on their ends. Method for processing gear teeth with chamfering at their ends includes mounting a gear blank on a gear-cutting machine, processing its gear rim with a worm gear cutter with continuous rotation of the workpiece and cutter and feed motion, chamfering the end surfaces of the teeth with two gear-cutting cutters placed on a common with a worm gear cutter on a mandrel. The movement of the teeth of these cutters is performed in the direction of the end face. As chamfering cutters, worm multi-start cutters with the number of teeth equal to the number of starts are used.
EFFECT: invention provides improved processing quality.
