FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydraulic engineering and can be used in the construction of a low-pressure earth dam on a permafrost base, allowing overflow through its crest under a two-way pressure. An earth dam contains a body made of soil, an ice-soil prism, impervious walls from the sides of the upper and lower pools, installed to a depth below the seasonal thawing layer into the permafrost layer, fastening of the ridge and slopes with rock riprap with geotextile. The ice-ground prism is made of wet cohesive soil, located under the central part of the dam body and frozen to permafrost soils. The impervious walls are installed on the side of the upstream and downstream pools to a depth below the seasonal thawing layer into the permafrost layer, eliminating water filtration through the body and base of the dam from the side of the upstream and downstream pools. To protect against the flow of flood waters, the crest and slopes of the dam are fixed with riprap. At the same time, geotextiles are laid on the body of the earth dam in order to avoid washing out of the soil under the riprap.
EFFECT: water filtration is eliminated and the stability of the dam is increased.
