FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydraulic engineering construction, in particular to methods for increasing the stability of low-pressure ground dams on a permafrost base. A soil dam contains a body made of soil, with an ice-ground prism, an anti-filtration device in the form of a soil berm in the upper stream, located above the normal headwater level, with soil thermostabilizers installed on it. The ice-ground prism is made of wet cohesive soil, located under the central part of the dam body and is frozen to permafrost soils. The thermal stabilizers of the soil are installed to a depth below the seasonal thawing layer, they reduce the thawing of the dam from the warming effect of the reservoir while simultaneously increasing the frozen part of the dam due to their installation in the headwater.
EFFECT: water filtration is excluded and the stability of the dam is increased.
