FIELD: objects testing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing objects containing an electroexplosive device (EED) for exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) and currents of various origins. The method for testing an object includes: creating an EMF with specified parameters and exposing it to an object with an installed EED with increased sensitivity, establishing a positive test result upon failure of an EED with increased sensitivity when exposed to an EMF on an object and upon actuation of an EED with increased sensitivity when exposed to it safe current pulse for a standard EED, determination of the EED explosion protection index from EMF exposure by the formula: Ppro=1-Reed-st(1-Reed-is), where Reed-st is the value of the probability of operation of a standard EED when a safe current impulse flows; Reed-is is the value of the probability of failure-free operation of an EED with increased sensitivity during the flow of a safe current pulse for a standard EED.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of assessing the explosion protection of an object from the effects of EMF.
