DEHYDRATION PROCESS CHARACTERIZED BY IMPROVED RUN TIME Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C07C5/333 C07C11/02

Abstract RU 2785504 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for dehydration of hydrocarbons. For implementation of the method, a flow of hydrocarbon raw materials containing at least one paraffin is supplied to a dehydration installation containing a reactor with a movable layer with a radial flow. The flow of raw materials is brought into contact with a catalyst in the reactor in dehydration conditions, wherein a size of catalyst particles is in a normal operating range. Then, a flow of a product containing at least one olefin is removed from the reactor. Part of the catalyst is periodically removed, and the removed catalyst part is replaced with a fresh catalyst, while the reactor continues to operate. At the same time, a size of particles of the removed catalyst part is in a normal operating range within 25% of a nominal size of catalyst particles, the removed catalyst part is from 5 wt.% to 50 wt.% of the total amount of the catalyst in the dehydration installation.

EFFECT: reduction in a flow rate of raw materials for each unit of an olefin product; minimization of costs for a fresh catalyst, as well as preservation of a rate of production of the olefin product at a level close to the beginning of a production cycle during longer time with a slower decrease rate.
