FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: high-voltage transformer is made in the form of a toroidal transformer containing one magnetised core, which is closed or almost closed in a circle. The transformer also comprises a low-voltage winding and a high-voltage winding electrically isolated from the low-voltage winding. Both windings are located around the same fragment of the magnetised core. The high-voltage winding is made at least partially as a pilger-step winding. An insulating layer is provided at least on the part of the magnetised core whereon the low-voltage winding and the high-voltage winding are located. The insulating layer is intended for electrical insulation of said at least one part of the magnetised core from the low-voltage winding and the high-voltage winding.
EFFECT: reduction in the weight and size characteristics and increase in the efficiency of the high-voltage transformer.
