FIELD: engineering elements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a riser hinge link. Riser hinge link comprises a flexible ball joint with seals and a gimbal located in the ball cavity, able to perceive axial and radial loads from the riser string when the hinge link is in the unlocked state. The swing axis of the gimbal is located below the upper annular preventer. The flexible ball joint comprises a lock mechanism equipped with a smooth branch pipe and a cylinder with a piston, a locking element, and a spring. A flexible tube connects the mechanism with the clamping branch pipe containing a hydraulic control system. The cylinder body has one or multiple guide rods engaging with the clamping branch pipe. The rods prevent the rotation of the cylinder relative to the riser.
EFFECT: reduced accumulated mechanical fatigue damage in the wellhead equipment and prolonged operating life and durability thereof.
