FIELD: chemical energy conversion.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of direct conversion of chemical energy into electrical energy, in particular to the design of a bipolar refrigeration chamber of a fuel cell (FC). The bipolar refrigerating chamber of the fuel cell contains two identical thin-sheet plates with a corrugated relief, connected by contour welding with a preliminary turn relative to each other by 180°. The corrugated relief is made in the rectangular active part in the form of sections with straight and wavy channels, which are connected to each other at a right angle. The straight channels are connected to the gas collectors, which are located on the long side of the active region and, diagonally to the latter, in the part of the inlet and outlet of the gases. Between the gas collectors and sections with straight channels there are sections of communication with perforation through which gases enter the active area outside the plates. The coolant collectors are made between the gas collectors and are connected to the active area through communication sections, without perforation, and distribution zones. The channels of the cooling medium in the active region are made with three types of sections. Along the perimeter of the plates and around the gas collectors, sealing grooves are made, consisting of bottoms with side walls.
EFFECT: reduction of overall characteristics and increase of reliability.
