FIELD: electrochemical power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical power generation, in particular, to components of fuel cells (FC) with liquid, evaporation (i.e. with phase transition of coolant from liquid phase) or gas cooling, using polymer membrane, hydrogen and oxygen as electrolyte, fuel and oxidizer, respectively. Bipolar plate for stacks of fuel elements with liquid cooling consists of two identical in size and configuration sheet elements, symmetrical relative to their centers, each of which contains an active region, a system of gas collectors and reservoirs for a cooling agent, as well as a distribution zone of the cooling agent, gas distribution zones, area of gas collectors communication with gas distribution zone with perforation and area of gas collectors communication with gas distribution area without perforation. Active areas are corrugated with formation of longitudinal zigzag distribution channels on both sides of each of the system elements. One of the sheet elements constituting the bipolar plate is installed with rotation relative to the other one at angle of 180° relative to its longitudinal axis of symmetry. On the surfaces of distribution zones and communication areas structural ledges are made. Plate is made with contour laser welding. Collectors for coolant are arranged on opposite longitudinal ends of each plate element of plate.

EFFECT: technical result of proposed solution is simple design of bipolar plate and its manufacturing process with simultaneous improvement of its operational characteristics.
