FIELD: railways traffic control.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to traffic control on railways. The automatic railway traffic control system includes an electronic tag reader, a tram ID reader controller, a wireless communication modem, an input electronic tag, output electronic tags, a stationary control module for a tram automation cabinet via a radio channel, a control cabinet for tram automation, a turnout drive with a position control function arrows and turnout. The method for controlling the movement of railway transport consists in reading the indication code of the input electronic tag by the reader at the moment the tram approaches the turnout, transmitting the indication code to the reader controller, then transmitting the turnout control signal corresponding to the indication code to the turnout drive, transferring the switches to corresponding position and block the transmission of subsequent control signals to the turnout drive. Then, the indication code of the output electronic tag is read after the tram has passed the turnout and the transmission of subsequent control signals of the turnout drive is unblocked.
EFFECT: improving the safety of tram transport.
