FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of power engineering and can be used for converting the mechanical energy of motion of an aqueous medium into electricity. Apparatus 1 for converting the energy of motion of an aqueous medium into electricity comprises a tightly sealed flexible sheet 5; elements for converting the mechanical effects on the sheet 5 into electrical signals, mounted in the fabric of the sheet 5; elements for converting the electrical signals into a unipolar electric current configured to be supplied to the consumer 6, mounted in the fabric of the sheet 5. The apparatus 1 is equipped with a box 2 secured in the stream of the flowing aqueous medium and additional flexible sheets 5. The box is made with a narrowing 3 along the length thereof for accelerating the flow, followed by an expansion 4. All sheets 5 are located inside the box 2 on grids 7 used to collect electricity from the sheets 5 and installed perpendicular to the stream of the flowing aqueous medium at the place of narrowing 3.

EFFECT: guarding of the sheets 5 from the external mechanical effects, higher flow rate of the aqueous medium for the purpose of increasing the oscillation frequency of the sheet 5, and higher level of electricity generated by the sheet 5.
