FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular, to methods for rice cultivation. The method includes the stages of pre-testing the rice for the content of boron and ranking the rice into three groups with different boron content. To determine the need for treating the rice with a 1.0% aqueous boron solution, depending on the content of boron therein, vegetating rice plants in the tillering phase are used, subjected to dry ashing at a temperature of 525 to 25 ±°C in order to test the content of boron therein. The treated plants are then ranked into three groups: plants containing less than 3.35 mg/kg of dry top mass of the plants belong to the first group; 3.35 to 3.70 mg/kg - to the second group; and plants containing more than 3.70 mg/kg of dry top mass of the plants belong to the third group. If rice plants contain less than 3.70 mg/kg boron, foliar dressing is performed with a 0.1% aqueous boron solution with a working solution consumption rate of 300 l/ha.

EFFECT: increase in the yield of rice and reduction in the consumption of boron-containing fertilisers due to the need for foliar treatment of vegetating rice plants with boron being determined.
