FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used in the continuous casting of steel. The slag-forming mixture is supplied by introducing a working body made in the form of a multi-sectional container, cantilevered on a manipulator with the possibility of longitudinal movement and rotation, into the space above the surface of the metal melt and the said mixture is unloaded onto the surface of the metal melt simultaneously into all sections of the tundish by overturning the said multi-section containers.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the duration of auxiliary operations, increase the casting productivity and simplify the maintenance of the CCM, as well as create a uniform slag layer on the melt surface.
