FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in continuous casting of steel. Slag-forming mixture for continuous steel casting contains the following, wt.%: 29.5-39.5 of portland cement, 13.0-23.0 of sand, 17.5-27.5 of cryptocrystalline amorphous graphite, 0.5-10.0 of soda ash, 5.0-15.0 of fluorspar, 2.0-12.0 of syenite, 0.1-8.0 of thermal power plant ash.
EFFECT: increasing the stability of casting by reducing the number of CCM stops, eliminating ingot hanging and breakthrough of its crust, as well as improving the quality of the surface of continuously cast blanks by preventing the formation of cracks and their opening after the blanks exit the crystallizer.
