FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for processing cast iron or steel to remove oxygen, sulfur and deep cleaning of non-metallic inclusions. The alloy contains, in wt.%: CaC2 25-55, CaO 15-40, Al2O3 15-40, SiO2 0.5-5, MgO 0.5-5, Cst. 0.5-2, inevitable impurities no more than 4, and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio is 0.75-1.5, and CaC2/CaO is in the range of 0.6-3.6.
EFFECT: invention provides deoxidation of steel, for example, low-carbon steel, rapid formation of a highly basic liquid slag for desulfurization of liquid iron and removal of non-metallic inclusions, which makes it possible to obtain high-quality steel or cast iron products.
