FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Proposed method comprises loading the blend into smelting chamber, blend smelting, reducing the excess slag melt iron oxides and separate discharge of obtained clinker and iron from said chamber. It differs from known processes in that said used blend represents a mix of used smelting furnace or oxygen-blown vessel slag, waste slag of ladle-furnace plants and limestone. Content of blend components makes, in percentage of the entire blend weight: waste slag of ladle-furnace plants - 10-40%, used smelting furnace or oxygen-blown vessel slag - 30-45%, limestone making the rest. Prior to loading into smelting chamber the blend is heated by chamber offgas heat with temperature of 1850-1900°C in special heater. For reduction of iron oxides used is the mix of high- and low-ash coals in amount of 5.5-7% of blend weight. With slag bath filled completely with fused preset-composition clinker, blend feed is terminated for some 10-20 minutes. Note here that during said time interval fuel-oxygen burners are not switched off and oxygen feed is increased by 3-15%. After said time interval, 70-80% of obtained clinker is discharged from smelting chamber and directed to granulation to resume loading the blend into said chamber.
EFFECT: expanded range of steel-smelting slags, higher heat and process efficiency ruled out minor iron inclusions in finished clinker, higher clinker quality.
