FIELD: spacecrafts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spacecrafts and their control devices, in particular to engines for orientation, stabilization and correction of the spacecraft in space. The engine generates laser radiation and delivers it in a pulsed mode through a focusing lens to the rear wall of the cylindrical channel. At the same time, a pressurized working medium is fed from the tank into the cylindrical channel by means of an electrovalve. A pulsed near-surface optical discharge occurs on the rear wall of the cylindrical channel. The flow of the working fluid is heated, accelerated and expires into the outer space, creating a thrust impulse.
EFFECT: increase in the specific impulse of a laser rocket engine of a spacecraft with a small mass, a decrease in the consumption of the working fluid and a decrease in weight and size characteristics.
