FIELD: spacecraft.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spacecraft and their control devices, in particular, for orientation and stabilization of vehicles in space. A pulsed laser rocket engine contains a laser radiation source, a compressor, a pipeline of arbitrary section, a receiver, a camera, a focusing lens, a battery and solar panels. The working fluid is pumped into the receiver by the compressor. When the valve is opened, a portion of the working gas from the receiver enters the engine chamber from the receiver. Laser source creates a pulse passing through the focusing lens. At the moment when compressed air enters the chamber, a pulsed optical discharge occurs, as a result of which the temperature of the working fluid rises and it flies out of the cylindrical channel, creating a thrust impulse.

EFFECT: increase in specific impulse, decrease in weight and size characteristics and simplification of conditions for placing a laser engine on board a spacecraft.
