SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, namely to poultry farming, in particular to growing of broiler chickens. A method for the use of a fodder additive, when growing broiler chickens, includes introduction to mixed fodder of a fodder additive obtained based on 10% lemon balm infusion prepared on distilled water and cooled to a temperature of no more than 25°C with addition of a biocide component. As the biocide component, 50% solution of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride is used, which is added to 10% lemon balm infusion in amount of 20 ml/l or at the ratio of 1:50. At the same time, the fodder additive is added to mixed fodder from the calculation of 1 ml per 1 kg of mixed fodder, and fodder is fed to broiler chickens during the entire period of their growing.

EFFECT: invention increases productivity, live weight, daily average growth, preservation of livestock, digestibility of nutrients of mixed fodder and quality of meat are improved.
