FIELD: marking.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to technologies of marking a finished product containing a container and a cover for a container. A method for marking a finished product is proposed, wherein the finished product contains a container and a removable cover for the container. The method contains a stage, at which the first code for the container is generated. Next, the second code for the cover is generated. In addition, the container is marked with the first code, and the cover is marked with the second code. Moreover, the first code and the second code are different but interconnected so that at least part of one of the first code and the second code can be derived from another one of the first code and the second code. During authentication, one of the first or the second code or part of the first or the second code, in an encrypted or unencrypted form, can be compared to a value derived as a result of reading another one of the first code and the second code.
EFFECT: provision of authentication of finished products.
