FIELD: space technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of space technology, namely, to keeping a spacecraft in a operational position without interfering with other spacecraft and monitoring an adjacent spacecraft. This is achieved by the fact that the monitoring spacecraft is located from the adjacent spacecraft at a distance along the orbit to about 1.5° in the area of longitude retention with a length of about 0.2°, free from third-party spacecraft or having no more than one third-party spacecraft, which is more than enough for a simple stay in geostationary orbit. Longitude collocation is organized with a third-party spacecraft and direct 24H monitoring of the adjacent spacecraft is carried out by receiving radiation emanating from this adjacent spacecraft at the level of high-order side lobes.
EFFECT: present invention enables to monitor the adjacent spacecraft with one monitoring spacecraft.
