FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to a method for creating a metal coating on a cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel strip. Method for creating a metal coating on a cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel strip includes the stages of providing a cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel strip containing iron as the main component and, in addition to carbon, Mn 4.1 to 8.0 wt.%, unavoidable impurities, as well as at least one alloying element, if necessary: Al, Si, Cr, B, Ti, V, Nb, Mo, P, and S; cleaning the strip surface; applying a layer of pure iron with an average iron content above 96 wt.% onto the cleaned surface; applying an oxygen-containing iron-based layer containing oxygen more than 5 to 40 wt.% onto the pure iron layer. The strip with the oxygen-containing iron-based layer is then subjected to annealing treatment and reduction treatment in the course of the annealing treatment in the reducing atmosphere of a furnace. Finally, a metal coating is applied by hot dipping onto the treated annealed steel strip.
EFFECT: high adhesion of the metal coating to a steel substrate and higher capacity for galvanising steels.
