FIELD: testing equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing equipment and can be used to conduct experimental studies of the properties of materials under high-speed loading. The installation contains a mechanical pile driver and a load transfer mechanism. The load transfer mechanism comprises a U-shaped base with a through hole in the center of the cover and a movable inverted U-shaped body, the cover of which is located inside the base and has a through hole in the center, which coincides in geometry with the through hole of the base, mirrored relative to the inner surface of the cover movable body. A shock plate is attached to the bases of the walls of the movable body. In the through holes of the base cover and the cover of the movable body there are locking half rings holding the broadened cylindrical parts of the cylindrical sample. A plate is attached to the outer surface of the lid of the movable housing, which closes the through hole in this lid from the outside. On the anvil of the mechanical pile driver, located below the backing plate, on which the base is installed, a damper is placed, which excludes contact between the backing plate and the cover of the movable housing.

EFFECT: creation of an installation for testing cylindrical samples of materials in tension in the range of strain rates up to 200 s-1 and more, while ensuring the reliability of its operation.
