FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pediatric surgery, and can be used for the treatment and prevention of complications caused by a total discharge of blood from the portal system into the inferior vena cava in children undergoing side-to-side splenorenal shunting or splenosuprenal shunting along about portal hypertension. To do this, the blood flow is blocked in the splenic vein at a level located between the previously imposed portosystemic anastomosis and the mouth of the splenic vein.
EFFECT: invention provides effective treatment of complications caused by total discharge of blood from the portal system into the inferior vena cava; prevention of recurrence of these complications due to correction of blood flow with the provision of portal perfusion of the liver under the conditions of a previously imposed portosystemic shunt; prevention of thrombosis of the portosystemic shunt by correcting the blood flow by transferring it from a total to a selective portosystemic shunt with the availability and simplicity of the technique of the proposed surgical intervention.
