FIELD: raw materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of zinc oxide from zinc-containing raw materials. The plant for producing zinc oxide contains a cyclone evaporation and oxidation chambers, a loading device and a slag outlet with a taphole for removing slag from the evaporation chamber. The ratio of the diameters of the pinch channel from the cyclone evaporation chamber to the oxidation chamber and the cyclone evaporation chamber is 0.5≤d/D≤0.7, and their axes are perpendicular in the horizontal plane, while the connection point of the end cover of the evaporation cyclone chamber and its generatrix in this plane is simultaneously a point belonging to the pinch circle. The cyclone evaporation chamber is additionally equipped with a partition located in the vertical plane at an angle of less than 30° to the longitudinal axis of the cyclone evaporation chamber and covers the pinch channel opening by no more than 0.5d, and the cross section of the cyclone evaporation chamber - by no more than 0.25D.
EFFECT: improving the quality of the product obtained by reducing entrainment from the cyclone evaporation chamber and simplifying the maintenance of the plant.
