FIELD: pneumatic percussive machines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pneumatic percussive machines and may be used in construction, mining and mechanical engineering. Pneumatic hammer contains a cylindrical body, operating tool fixated by a retainer relative to the cylindrical body, handle with inlet device, partition with inlet throttle, outlet channel and axial bore, in which a tube with longitudinal outlet channel and radial outlet channel are installed and fixed extending into the tube side surface, an annular discharge chamber with an outlet formed by the baffle, the cylindrical body and the handle body, the pre-chamber formed by the handle body and the baffle connected via an air duct to the compressed air network, the striker with a through axial channel for passing the tube dividing the cylindrical body cavity into an operating chamber on the partition side permanently communicating with the pre-chamber by means of an inlet baffle in the partition and an idle chamber on the tool side occasionally communicating via the radial and longitudinal outlet channels in the tube and the outlet channel in the baffle to the annular outlet chamber and via the outlet in the handle body to the atmosphere chamber formed by the handle body and an air baffle ring, a notch in the cylindrical casing on the idle chamber side, a by-pass that periodically communicates between the operating and idle chambers. A bypass channel-groove is made on the lateral surface of the inner cavity of the cylindrical body in the form of a drainage channel-groove along the channel constituent with a cross section in the form of a circular arc with a constant communication between the stroke chamber and the idle stroke chamber.

EFFECT: invention provides possibility to reduce the mains air consumption, increase impact energy transmitted to the operating tool, as well as to increase the striker strength and the hammer service life by means of eliminating the channels on the striker side surface.
