FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to crop production, and can be used for growing seedlings of various vegetable crops. As a substrate for the preparation of molds for growing seedlings, a composition consisting of plant waste and a binder is used. Hay, straw, threshing waste of cereal crops, sunflower husks, plant residues are used as plant waste when extracting the necessary part of an agricultural crop cultivated and available in the local region, after harvesting and its industrial processing. An aqueous composition containing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is used as a binder.
EFFECT: obtaining a substrate that is environmentally friendly, waterproof, well retaining and accumulating moisture, retaining its geometric shape in the process of growing seedlings, ensuring the safety of the root system during plant transplantation, supplying plants with nutrients and stimulating their growth, with the maximum use of raw materials available in the region, subject to recycling.
