FIELD: optical measurements.
SUBSTANCE: estimation of the angular coordinates of the source of optical radiation used in systems for ensuring entry into communication, aiming optical beams, trajectory measurements. The method consists in the use of one electrooptical camera with the area imager, which receives part of the main radiation. The elevation angle of the optical source is determined by the values of the coordinates of the area imager photocells, the output signals of which are equal to each other. They determine the minor and major semiaxes of the ellipse. The left and right half-planes formed by the minor semiaxis are determined. They summarize the signals of the selected six elements of areas S1 and S2 of area imager. The obtained values of the total signals are compared and based on the results of the comparison, it is determined that the elevation angle of the optical radiation source belongs to one of the upper half-spaces bounded by the area imager photosensitive surface plane.
EFFECT: elimination of possible measurement errors caused by the mechanical inclination of the area imager photosensitive surface site, and increased system speed.
