FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to study of light transmission of materials to control the parameters of transparency of materials. The device for determining transparency by a sample consists of the following elements: on the support frame, which ensures the movement and focusing of all elements of the device, there is an illumination device (lamp), a lens and a focusing lens-regulator with a fixed diffuser concentrating the light flux; a device for fixing samples is installed on a special bracket of the support frame, equipped with adjusting screws for moving the sample vertically and horizontally and equipped with elastic gaskets with round holes between which the test sample is placed; a light meter connected to an electronic display is fixed on an additional bracket. After the sample is placed and the device is connected to the electrical network, the structure is closed with a light-protective black casing, which ensures that the luxmeter reading is not distorted and no light enters from outside. EFFECT: simplification of the process of determining the transparency of a material, an increase in the accuracy and reliability of measurements, and the detection of defects during testing.
