FIELD: soil reclamation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to soil reclamation and can be used in the reclamation of lands contaminated with heavy metals (HM). To achieve the desired result, two mechanisms are used to reduce the bioavailability of HM in the soil: chemical and physico-chemical. The composition for reclamation of soils contaminated with heavy metals includes lowland peat, zeolite, limestone flour in doses of 2.5, 2.5, 0.6 kg/m2 or 25, 25, 6 t/ha, respectively, as well as sodium superphosphate or sulfide in a dose of 0.012 kg/m2 or 0.12 t/ha. All components are pre-mixed in the indicated doses, distributed over the soil surface and evenly mixed in the arable layer of 0-25 cm. The dose of ameliorant application depends on the level of soil contamination with HM and ranges from 5 to 6 kg per 1 m2 of soil. The developed composition of ameliorants has a complex positive effect on soil fertility: it reduces soil acidity, increases the soil’s absorption capacity, the content of elements of mineral nutrition and organic matter.
EFFECT: introduction of ameliorants increases crop yields by 20-30% and reduces the content of HM in crop production by 50-60%.
