FIELD: agriculture and soil science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and soil science, and in particular to means and methods for determining the water resistance of soils to predict possible soil erosion. The method for determining the water resistance of soil aggregates includes the selection of aggregates, their evacuation, followed by saturation with water in a vacuum and further mechanical action on the aggregates prepared in this way, while according to the invention, before wetting, the selected aggregates are placed in a cassette that reduces their mobility; and after wetting the aggregates, the vacuum is turned off and the water-saturated groups of aggregates linearly located in the cassette are acted upon by blades with a gradual increase in the load and its fixation at the moment of destruction of the soil aggregates. The water resistance of aggregates is determined by the average ultimate load of destruction per 1 aggregate.
EFFECT: reducing the time of the experiment to determine the water resistance of soil aggregates while simplifying the method for such determination.
