SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an electro-hydraulic power steering system of a vehicle and a method for its control. The electro-hydraulic system comprises an AC electric motor 1 with permanent magnet excitation controlled by a power converter 2 by vector control. On the shaft of the electric motor 1, a hydraulic pump 3 is installed, which circulates the working fluid in the hydraulic circuit of the amplifier 4 of the steering mechanism. The motor is connected to the converter 3 by means of a high-voltage power cable 5 and a low-voltage control cable 6, through which information is received from the sensors that measure the operating parameters of the motor to the converter. The converter is connected by a high-voltage cable 7 to a source of electrical energy, and by a low-voltage cable 8 to the control unit 9. The method for controlling the electro-hydraulic power steering system of a vehicle includes measuring and comparing the set parameters, and when generating a control signal, the control unit measures and compares the temperature of the working fluid with the set threshold values to maintain the set temperature of the working fluid at a minimum performance of the hydraulic pump and reduce energy losses.

EFFECT: increased energy efficiency by reducing energy losses in the supply wires and in the electric motor.
